Post-It Smiley: The Shadow

And here I present another - very important - archetype: The Shadow. 

The shadow is all we neglect and don't want so see, don't want to have or to be. All those things dwell in our psyche and form our shadow. All those "winged demons", all those monsters, mutants, menace and of course all those assholes out there are projections of your shadow. 

To evolve, to be whole, it is important to confront yourself with your shadow, your unwanted thoughts and behaviour and eventually to learn from them. (There even is some kind of hegelian dialectics in this.)

Luke Skywalker, who confronts darth vader in a cave, only to find out, that beneath the mask, there is his own face. Harry Potter, realising that there is some part of Voldemort in himself or Arya Stark, who learns to kill as cold blooded as the Hound are perfect examples for that. 

This is no "cute" smiley, and of course it cannot be. But remember, there is strength, freedom and even peace in embracing your shadow.
