Shading experiment

As Inkscape doesn't allow different screen modes in objects, I tried working with layers in "multiply" mode, to achieve a shading that is based on a grey gradient. 

It works.

There is a highlight level, a shading level and you can change the colors just by using different colors on the color level. Do you want a tutorial on this? Tell me in the comments.
